Proscar is a treatment that has been used for more than 25 years to reduce the severity of symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition in which the prostate gland becomes enlarged and causes urinary incontinence. Proscar is a brand name that contains the generic name finasteride, which is also known by its brand names Proscar and Proscar, and is available in a supply of 5mg tablets for patients who have an enlarged prostate or for those who are unable to take the generic medication.
Proscar is usually taken about 30 minutes before sexual activity. The dosage of Proscar depends on the severity of your condition. Some patients may be able to take Proscar daily for up to 3 days after they have had their prostate surgery.
If you need to take Proscar for more than 2 days, talk to your doctor about your dosage and the duration of treatment.
Proscar should be taken with food.
Proscar is not recommended for use for long term. This medication should not be used long term as it can cause serious health problems.
